Using Our Camera in Other Software
Our camera is a Microsoft-certified standard camera used by millions of users worldwide. Since it supports custom resolutions and video formats, it theoretically offers better compatibility than hardware cameras. Any software that supports a camera can use our camera.
For various reasons, some software may not work properly with our camera or may not produce the expected results (e.g., video cropping, stretching, black borders, inability to display full screen, or blurry video).
Please note that this is not an issue with our camera, but rather a problem with the software using the camera or other external factors.
For software that users frequently ask about, we have written some tutorials based on our testing. However, we cannot guarantee their effectiveness, as usage environments and software versions may vary. These tutorials are for reference only, and actual results may differ depending on your setup.

Some Common Questions
Does your camera support specific software or emulators?
This is not the right question. Our camera is a standard camera device, so it does not require special support for specific software. As long as the software itself functions properly and does not intentionally block virtual cameras, any software that supports a camera can use our camera.
Why can’t specific software or emulators use your camera?
First, ensure that our camera driver is working properly (e.g., the camera works properly in AMCap). If not, please refer to the last item in the FAQs:
- Driver issue? Device disabled? Being prompted to reinstall the software (“Please reinstall xxx”)?
If our camera works in other software but not in a specific software, please refer to the following items in the FAQs:
- The camera list is empty, or some cameras are missing when accessing the camera?
- How to configure software to use our camera?
If the software can detect our camera but cannot use it properly, set an appropriate resolution (e.g., 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080, 640 x 480) and frame rate (e.g., 25fps, 30fps) according to the software’s requirements, and change the output format to RGB24.
If it still does not work, contact the software developer and report the issue.
Why is the video blurry or unclear?
Our camera supports custom resolutions, so you can configure it to output HD video. Use software such as AMCap to check whether the output video is high-definition.
However, regardless of how high you set the resolution, some software may still fail to display high-definition video. This is because the software itself may not support HD video properly or may process the video incorrectly. For example, if you set our camera to 1920 x 1080, some software may scale it down to a lower resolution such as 640 x 480, resulting in reduced clarity. This is beyond our control. Learn more…
Why is the video not displayed in full screen? Why is it cropped, stretched, or distorted?
First, use software such as AMCap to check whether the output video from our camera is correct.
If the output video is not what you want, adjust the resolution and video scaling settings in our software to achieve the desired effect.
If the output video is correct but the display in another software is problematic, it may be because the software processes the video itself (e.g., stretching, cropping, or adding black borders). This is beyond our control. You can adjust the default resolution and output format of our camera to better match the software. Refer to the relevant setup tutorials (WeCam | VCam | iVCam) or troubleshoot independently. Learn more…
Why are the video colors garbled or abnormal?
This is usually caused by a bug in the software. Try setting the output format of our camera to RGB24 and avoid using uncommon custom resolutions.
Summary
For issues encountered when using our camera in third-party software, we will provide assistance to the best of our ability. However, please understand that this is not our responsibility or obligation, and we cannot research every application that uses our camera. Everything we need to say about these issues is already covered here and in the relevant tutorials.
Please do not contact us for consultation regarding these issues, as we may not know more about the software than you do. Thank you for your understanding.
